Questions, answered plainly.
What happens to your voice, what the three-minute test involves, and what your map does and doesn't tell you. If something isn't here, ask us.
Getting started
What the test is, and what you need to do it.
What happens in the three-minute test?
You talk for three minutes about your day. There's nothing to type and no questionnaire to fill in. When you stop, Chosn turns how you sounded into a bloom: one petal for each emotion that came through, sized by how strongly it showed up. That's your first map.
Do I need to sign up to try it?
No. You can take the test and see your first map without creating an account. If you want to keep that map and keep going, you'll join the waitlist right after.
What am I supposed to talk about?
Whatever's actually going on. Talk the way you'd talk to a friend who asked how your week has been. There's no script and no right answer, and you don't have to be interesting or articulate. Chosn is listening to how you sound, not grading what you say.
Do I need a quiet room or a good microphone?
Your phone or laptop microphone is fine. Somewhere you can talk out loud without feeling self-conscious matters more than the hardware.
Privacy and your voice
Your voice is the most personal thing you can hand a product. These answers are being finalized with our privacy counsel before launch, and the privacy policy is the binding version.
What happens to my recordings?
Your recording is processed to build your map.
Deleting a session deletes what's behind it.
Who can see my sessions?
You. Your sessions aren't shown to other users, aren't published anywhere, and there's no feed, no profile, and no way for anyone to browse what you've recorded.
Can I delete everything?
Yes. You can delete an individual session or your whole account.
Who can see that I joined the waitlist?
Only you. Your place in line is visible to you and nobody else. Chosn doesn't publish a public list, there's no leaderboard, and your name and email never appear on the site. If you refer a friend, they see your invitation, not your position or anything about your sessions.
What Chosn is, and isn't
The honest boundaries of what a map can tell you.
Is Chosn therapy?
No. Chosn is a tool for seeing your own patterns. It isn't a substitute for professional support, and it doesn't intervene, advise, or tell you what to do next. If you're already working with a therapist, Chosn gives you something concrete to bring into the room instead of trying to remember how the last three weeks felt.
Is my map a clinical assessment?
No. A bloom reflects what came through in your voice during one three-minute session. It isn't a clinical instrument, it doesn't identify a condition, and it never labels you. It's a picture of a moment, and it gets more useful as those moments add up.
How is this different from a mood tracker?
A mood tracker asks you to rate yourself, so it only knows what you already knew and remembered to log. Chosn listens to how you actually sound, which means your map doesn't depend on you correctly naming what you're feeling on a given day.
The other difference is the point of it. Chosn is built for change over time, not for a daily entry you never look at again.
How accurate is it?
Chosn compares you to you. A single session isn't a precise reading of your inner life, and we won't pretend otherwise. What holds up is the shape across weeks, measured against your own baseline rather than against an average or anyone else's.
We'll share more about the method behind the map at launch.
What if a session brings up something heavy?
Some weeks are harder than others, and talking out loud can surface more than you expected. Chosn won't diagnose what it hears or tell you how to feel about it. If you want extra support, talking to someone you trust, or a professional, can help.
Access and accounts
Getting in, and what it costs.
When do I get access?
Chosn is in private beta and we're inviting people in the order they joined. Referring a friend moves you up the line, and you'll see your place any time you come back.
What does it cost?
The three-minute test is free and doesn't ask for a card.
I'm a clinician. Is there something for me?
Yes, and it's a separate conversation from the consumer beta. Tell us about your practice on our clinicians page and we'll be in touch as that work opens up.
Still have a question?
Ask us directly. A person reads every one of these.
The fastest answer is your own map.
